We started the extended party off with a birthday-night-dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill. Everyone had a great dinner, the girls loved being in the spotlight and the highlight of the evening was when one of the servers came to our table and sang "Happy Birthday" to them in Italian. That was definitely a memorable moment.
One of the best parts of the week for the girls was having their cousins visit from MN. They had a lot of fun spending time with the boys. Both of the girls would love to have a little brother or sister. They will have to settle for younger cousins!
After dinner we went back home to open a few birthday gifts and have birthday cake #1.
On Saturday we had birthday party #2. This year the girls decided that they wanted to have an ice skating party. An ice skating party was not one that I ever thought I would be planning in central Florida, but I guess you just never know where life will take you.
At the ice rink we spent three hours skating and had pizza and popcorn at our own reserved table. It was a super fun and easy party, plus we got the added benefit of exercise.
After the skating party we headed home for birthday cake #2, ice cream, some snacks, and a few more presents. The girls saw a Penguin cake, like this one, at Target. I made this one myself. It turned out pretty good. It must have tasted good, because we didn't have much left at the end of the night.
